Written to give parents and children a calming bedtime ritual, Away to Dreamland is a whimsical book filled with stories, poems, and rhymes to take children on a journey through the seasons.
Enter a world of woodland creatures, celebrate the magic of nature, and read stories of children who need a little extra help falling asleep.
I wrote Away to Dreamland to be a bridge. A bridge that gently guides a child from the business of the day into the quiet stillness of night. This book meet's children where they are to help them move past the invisible roadblocks that can make rest feel out of reach.
The peaceful poems, stories and rhymes in this book offer reassurance and they speak directly to the young child's imagination, creating inner images that soothe and settle. They wrap the child in emotional safety, softening resistance, and offering a sense of calm and connection.
I believe children’s books should nourish the soul as much as they engage the mind, and that’s exactly what Away to Dreamland was written to do.
A child’s day and night aren’t separate experiences. Nurturing restorative sleep happens long before pajamas are on and before the lights go out. It begins in the morning, with the tone we set for the day, in the rhythms we create, in the way we hold space for play, connection, and rest.
Nurturing your child’s sleep as a sacred part of the day, means you’re doing more than encouraging restorative sleep, you’re nurturing their physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being.
The more you honor the day as a whole living, breathing rhythm, the more you offer your children the gift of peaceful sleep. When your child’s day ends with peaceful stories and comforting poems and rhymes that help them feel safe, that’s when sleep is nourishing, restorative, and even healing.

"Following the goings-on of woodland creatures and garden gatherings, each seasonal chapter offers a basket full of inspiration. Spring rain taps upon the window pane; caterpillar curls beneath a leaf. Fireflies twinkle like summer stars. Autumn winds blow and flowers lay down their sleepy heads. Snowflakes sparkle on bare winter branches beneath a silver moon. Away to Dreamland weaves together the beauty of language and images in a way that will delight generations of children and their parents."
